China, South Korea agree to advance FTA talks, strengthen supply-chain cooperation

( March 19, 2026, 08:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met South Korea’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, Kim Jung-kwan, in Beijing on Wednesday, the Ministry of Commerce said in a statement on Thursday. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral economic and trade cooperation and agreed to advance negotiations on the second phase of the China-South Korea free trade agreement. Kim said South Korea is willing to maintain close communication with China through a supply-chain cooperation hotline and an export-control dialogue to ensure stable and smooth industrial and supply chains.Statement follows (in Chinese)....
