Brazil President Lula signs decrees to implement minors' online safety law

( March 18, 2026, 20:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Brazil President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva signed three decrees related to the Digital Statute for Children and Adolescents, a law aimed at protecting children and adolescents under age 18 in digital environments. One decree implements the law passed by the National Congress and enacted in September 2025. Another establishes the National Center for the Protection of Children and Adolescents, linked to the Federal Police, to centralize reports of digital crimes identified by online platforms.
