Colorado AI workgroup delivers proposal to replace state's AI law, governor announces

( March 17, 2026, 23:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Colorado AI Policy Working Group has reached an agreement on a framework to repeal and replace the Colorado AI Act, the state's Governor Jared Polis announced. The new proposal rolls back many of the law's strict requirements and shifts focus to transparency when AI is used in consequential decisions, rights to additional information, correction of inaccurate information and human review of adverse decisions made by AI. "I look forward to supporting the recommended framework as legislation moves through the process, and commend the Colorado AI Policy Work Group for their efforts to get us here,” Polis said in a statement.Bill attached.
