Sendit messaging app files reply in support of dismissing US FTC's COPPA lawsuit

( March 16, 2026, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Operators of anonymous messaging app Sendit filed a reply in support of its motion to dismiss a US Federal Trade Commission lawsuit accusing the company of violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule by collecting children’s data without parental consent as part of an alleged “fake message” scheme. It said the opposition asks the court to ignore the pleaded facts that undermine the FTC’s legal claims while claiming that arguments for dismissal due to the insufficiency of the pleaded facts are merely evidentiary disputes to be decided later in the case, but the court should provide careful scrutiny now.
