Google, Apple, Samsung must face US antitrust claims, VoIP-Pal says

( March 16, 2026, 17:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: VoIP-Pal opposed Google, Apple and Samsung’s motion to dismiss US antitrust claims over Wi-Fi calling, tell the judge that they shouldn't be allowed to avoid addressing the coordinated authorization-and-enforcement architecture alleged in the complaint. “Although platforms and carriers have the ability to permit standalone Wi-Fi calling and extend these privileges to independent providers, they have not done so. The Complaint alleges that the absence of a standalone, parity-grade Wi-Fi calling option reflects these access restrictions and leaves carrier-authorized services as the only pathway to full native telephony functionality,” it said.
