Eni Plenitude–Acea Energia energy-sector merger cleared in Italy with remedies

( March 17, 2026, 12:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Italy’s competition authority has cleared Eni Plenitude’s acquisition of Acea Energia subject to remedies, citing concerns in retail electricity and gas in Rome and EV charging in Terni. Plenitude will drop its acquisition of an Acea unit supplying regulated electricity to vulnerable customers called Servizio Elettrico Roma,  ensure non-discriminatory conditions and divest a charging station.
