Australian privacy regulator warns on privacy risks of age-check technologies

In a statement announcing the release of guidance on the use of age-assurance technologies, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner said that, following the Social Media Minimum Age restrictions taking effect three months ago, it has observed significant growth in age checks in Australia to enable access to online services.
