Indonesia to restore Wikimedia login access after platform registers

( March 16, 2026, 07:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs said Monday it will restore access to Wikimedia’s login feature once the platform’s registration as a private electronic system provider, known as PSE, is verified. In a statement, the ministry said Wikimedia has communicated with the government and committed to proceed with the registration required under Indonesia’s digital platform rules. Director General of Digital Space Supervision Alexander Sabar underscored that PSE registration serves as a form of platform accountability to the public and ensures a clear point of contact for technical coordination, handling illegal content and protecting user rights in Indonesia.Statement follows (in Indonesian)....
