Apple slashes China App Store fees as regulatory pressures mount

By MLex Staff ( March 13, 2026, 06:35 GMT | Insight) -- Apple is lowering commission rates on its App Store in China following discussions with the country's regulator, a retreat for the iPhone maker as antitrust scrutiny intensifies in one of its largest markets. The commission rate on standard in-app purchases and paid apps will drop to 25 percent from 30 percent starting March 15, Apple said in a notice to developers.
