Apple wins partial dismissal of UK antitrust mass claim over iPhone performance

( March 11, 2026, 18:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Apple has seen a collective action alleging antitrust abuse in how it handled iPhone power problems partially struck out by a UK court. Consumer champion Justin Gutmann's case claims that Apple abused a dominant position by not telling users about a feature introduced in late 2016 that could throttle some iPhones' performance. The Competition Appeal Tribunal on Wednesday backed an argument by Apple that the claim should be limited to abuse allegations only up to March 2018, when a new operating system was brought out in which the power management feature was off by default and users had an option to turn it on or off.Ruling attached....
