Hungary, Poland told to transpose EU fraud rules within two months

( March 11, 2026, 12:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Hungary and Poland have been told they must correctly transpose EU rules against fraud to the EU's financial interests by means of criminal law within two months or they could be referred to the bloc's top court, the European Commission said. Although both countries have addressed some earlier concerns, problems remain, including weak penalties in Hungary and gaps in holding liability in Poland, it said.Statement follows....
