Belgium told to provide updated electricity risks plan or face EU action

( March 11, 2026, 11:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Belgium must respond to a request to provide an updated electricity risk preparedness plan within two months or face further EU action, the European Commission has said. The country had failed to provide the commission, as required under EU law, with its updated plans for preventing and managing power supply crises, such as for extreme weather conditions or malicious attacks, it said. Large-scale incidents, such as cold spells or cyberattacks, could affect several EU countries at the same time, it said.Statement follows....
