AI Act’s bans, high-risk use cases first review expected in April, EU says

In a letter to lawmaker Sergey Lagodinsky, it said sexual deepfakes aren’t covered by current bans, as lawmakers and governments push to add explicit prohibitions in ongoing talks on amendments to the AI law.The European Commission will finalize its first review of the AI Act’s list of prohibited practices and high-risk use cases in April, and considers sexual deepfakes are not currently covered under the law, MLex has learned....
