Japan's YKK AP, subsidiaries receive corrective actions for Subcontract Act breaches

( March 10, 2026, 08:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: YKK AP, a leading Japanese manufacturer of aluminum window systems and other residential products, received a corrective recommendation for violating the Subcontract Act, along with its subsidiaries YKK AP Okinawa and Ryukyu YKK AP Industry. Japan’s antitrust watchdog said Tuesday that the three companies required subcontractors to store more than 5,000 metal molds and other equipment that were rarely used, without paying storage fees. Although the companies later paid the fees, the Japan Fair Trade Commission instructed them to implement compliance measures to prevent a recurrence.The statement, in Japanese, is attached....
