Anthropic sues US government, claims retaliation over DoD contract fight

( March 9, 2026, 15:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Anthropic has sued US federal agencies and directors in California federal court, after contract negotiations broke down and the Department of Defense designated it a supply chain risk. "The Constitution does not allow the government to wield its enormous power to punish a company for its protected speech. No federal statute authorizes the actions taken here. Anthropic turns to the judiciary as a last resort to vindicate its rights and halt the Executive’s unlawful campaign of retaliation," the company said in the complaint*. Claims include violations of the Administrative Procedure Act, the First and Fifth Amendments, and Article II of the US Constitution. ...
