Plaintiffs seek preliminary approval for US antitrust settlement with Disney

( March 6, 2026, 04:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: YouTube TV and DirectTV subscribers asked a California federal court to grant preliminary approval for a proposed settlement reached with Disney to resolve US antitrust claims that Disney conspired to artificially inflate the cost of live television streamed over the internet to paid subscribers. Under the settlement, Disney "will provide a $50 million non-reversionary fund to compensate class members for alleged overcharges for YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream SLPTV subscriptions during the class period, and has agreed to injunctive relief designed to redress the alleged harm to competition in the SLPTV market," the plaintiffs' motion filed in the Northern District of California said.See attached file....
