Peter Warren's acquisition of Wakeling Automotive to face Australian review

( March 5, 2026, 23:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Peter Warren Automotive Holdings' proposal to acquire 100 percent of the shares of Paul Wakeling Motor Group and Wollongong City Motors from Wakeling Automotive Group will be reviewed by Australia’s antitrust regulator. In a statement on Thursday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said Peter Warren, a car retailing business listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, is also proposing to acquire business and trading net assets of Hurrikayne, relating to the Moss Vale Motor Group, which is also part of the Wakeling Automotive family. The regulator added that as part of the deal, Peter Warren will acquire 30 new and used car dealerships in Australia’s New South Wales. The watchdog said both Peter Warren and Wakeling Automotive supply new and used cars, original equipment manufacturers' spare parts and aftermarket vehicle servicing in parts of Sydney.Statement follows.
