European climate law gets final green light from EU ministers

( March 5, 2026, 12:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU ministers on Thursday adopted the amended European climate law, which sets a 90 percent reduction target by 2040 in net greenhouse gas emissions compared to 1990 levels. From 2036 onwards, 5 percent of that objective may consist of international credits in partner countries.
