EU should be more strategic in supporting non-EU nuclear safety, auditors say

( March 5, 2026, 10:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission should be more strategic in the way it supports countries outside the EU in strengthening their nuclear safety, the EU's external auditor has said. A strategy would identify the areas of greatest value of EU action, and take account of initiatives by other stakeholders, the European Court of Auditors said in a report. The commission should also improve the process for selecting EU-funded actions, it said, adding that EU-funded activities experienced delays and cost overruns and the EU executive could have done more to supervise how funded activities were run, it said.Press release follows.
