Aramex, GoSweetSpot to pay fine over cartel conduct, New Zealand regulator says

( March 4, 2026, 01:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Courier companies Aramex and GoSweetSpot have been ordered to pay a combined NZ$1.225 million ($727,895) in penalties for cartel conduct, the New Zealand antitrust agency announced. In a statement published on Wednesday, the New Zealand Commerce Commission said that in separate hearings the Auckland High Court fined Aramex NZ$700,000 and GoSweetSpot NZ$525,000 for engaging in cartel conduct. It said that in 2025 Aramex admitted to allocating customers and fixing prices with a competitor, while GoSweetSpot separately admitted to allocating customers with another competitor in the courier-services market. The two companies did not enter into agreements with each other. The regulator added that it will also issue warnings to nine courier businesses for conduct believed likely to constitute cartel conduct in breach of New Zealand competition laws.Statement follows....
