Bain Capital-MCJ deal approved by Australian competition watchdog

( March 3, 2026, 00:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Bain Capital Investors’ proposal to indirectly acquire 100 percent of the shares in MCJ Co., an integrated information and communications technology business, has received Australian competition regulator’s clearance. In a determination published on Tuesday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said there is no horizontal overlap or vertical relationship between Bain Capital and MCJ in Australia. Bain Capital proposes to acquire MCJ through a newly created “special purpose vehicle,” BCPE Meta Cayman. Bain Capital is organized under US law and is the “ultimate general partner of numerous private equity funds.” MCJ is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the only services that it supplies in Australia are IT product repair and support services through its brand R-Logic.Determination is attached....
