EU ramps up 6G research with €116m funding for 20 projects

( March 2, 2026, 15:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A total of €116 million is set to be provided for 20 next generation 6G mobile communication research and innovation projects by the EU’s Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking, a partnership led by the European Commission and the 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association. The investment is part of a broader €630 million in EU funding from the Horizon Europe programme and brings the SNS JU project portfolio to 100 projects. The newly funded projects span large-scale validation trials and foundational 6G research across key sectors including health, mobility, space, media, manufacturing, they said.Statement follows....
