Hyundai Motor pledges $6.3bn for AI, robotics, clean energy in South Korea

( February 27, 2026, 03:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Hyundai Motor Group has pledged to invest about 9 trillion won ($6.3 billion) in artificial intelligence, robotics and clean energy projects in the Saemangeum reclaimed land area of South Korea's North Jeolla Province. The automaker unveiled the plan Friday when it signed an agreement with relevant government agencies, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The bulk of the investment — 5.8 trillion won — will be spent on building a massive AI data center to support autonomous vehicles and robot learning, while another 1.3 trillion won will go toward constructing solar power facilities, the ministry said.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
