MediaLab fined for processing data of under 13s without consent, UK watchdog says

( February 26, 2026, 12:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: MediaLab was fined £247,590 earlier in February because it unlawfully processed data of users under 13 without parental consent, failed to introduce age checks, and did not carry out a required data protection impact assessment under the UK data privacy rules, the UK's Information Commissioner’s Office said in a penalty notice detailing its reasoning. The penalty notice is attached.
