Netflix-Warners deal should get 'exacting review,' Republican US state AGs say

( February 25, 2026, 17:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Eleven Republican state attorneys general warned that streaming platform Netflix's proposed buyout of Hollywood studio Warner Bros. Discovery "may lead to, among other things, a monopoly that will charge the State’s citizens higher subscription prices for less content of reduced quality" in an open letter they sent to the US Department of Justice. The state coalition was led by Montana AG Austin Knudsen and Nebraska AG Mike Hilgers, whose letter to the DOJ was cosigned by AGs of Alabama, Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, North Dakota, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah and West Virginia. See press release and letter....
