South Korea, US form working group to implement AI, tech deal

( February 23, 2026, 02:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea and the US have agreed to launch a working group to implement the Technology Prosperity Deal, a memorandum of understanding signed in October 2025 to deepen cooperation in science and technology. In a statement over the weekend, South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said the group will focus on areas including artificial intelligence, research security, telecommunications innovation, biotechnology, quantum technologies, space and basic research. The working group will include government officials and experts from both countries, with the US State Department and South Korea’s science ministry leading coordination. Its outcomes will be announced at the 12th US-South Korea Joint Committee on Science and Technology meeting later this year.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
