South Korean flour mills issued examiner's reports over alleged cartel

( February 20, 2026, 03:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Major South Korean flour manufacturers and distributors have been issued with examiner’s reports by the Korea Fair Trade Commission over alleged cartel conduct that the country’s competition regulator says lasted about six years from 2019 to 2025. The KFTC said on Friday that it sent the examiner’s reports to seven companies, including Daesun Flour Mills, Daehan Flour Mills, Sajo Dongaone, Samhwa Flour Mills, CJ Cheiljedang and Hantop, which together hold 88 percent of the market in the business-to-business flour market. The companies have eight weeks to respond to the examiner’s reports and review or access evidence in line with due process procedures, ahead of deliberations by the KFTC. Statement is attached (in Korean). ...
