US, Indonesia finalize trade pact as Washington keeps 19% tariff on imports

( February 20, 2026, 02:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Trump administration finalized a reciprocal trade agreement with Indonesia on Thursday, under which Jakarta will eliminate tariffs on more than 99 percent of US exports and address a wide range of non-tariff barriers, including local-content rules, licensing regimes and digital-trade restrictions. Indonesia also committed to remove export restrictions on industrial commodities, including critical minerals, and to join the Global Forum on Steel Excess Capacity. The US will maintain a 19 percent reciprocal tariff rate on Indonesian imports, with limited zero-tariff treatment for certain textiles and apparel tied to US input exports. The agreement also includes commitments on digital trade, agricultural market access, labor standards and supply-chain cooperation, and follows $33 billion in related commercial deals spanning energy, aerospace and agriculture.Statement follows.
