Nvidia loses bid to pause discovery in authors' US copyright suit over AI training

Nvidia requested a stay while US District Judge Jon S. Tigar considers its motion to dismiss the authors' most recent complaint. But Tigar ruled from the bench that Nvidia had not met its burden of showing that he’ll decide the motion in the company’s favor.A bid by Nvidia to pause discovery in a copyright lawsuit over use of authors’ works to train its large language models was denied by a US judge in Oakland on Thursday....
