Henkel's bid for adhesive company reviewed in Australia after waiver refusal

( February 19, 2026, 00:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: German consumer-goods company Henkel AG & Co’s proposed acquisition of Switzerland-based ATP adhesive systems Group GmbH, a subsidiary of Aqua Adhesives I GmbH, will be reviewed by the Australian competition regulator following the refusal of a notification waiver. In a statement published on Thursday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said Henkel, a company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, supplies tapes and labels adhesives and non-water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes in Australia. The regulator added ATP is a private company that supplies only water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes in Australia. Earlier this month, the watchdog refused the notification-waiver application and said that based on the information provided, it was unable to conclude that the acquisition would not be likely to raise competition concerns in any market.Statement follows.
