Denmark gets EU approval for €1bn aid to landowners for green aims

( February 13, 2026, 10:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Denmark secured European Commission approval on Friday for a €1.04 billion state aid plan aimed at enabling landowners to voluntarily withdraw agricultural or forestry land from production to curb greenhouse-gas emissions and nutrient runoff. The aid will run until Dec. 31, 2030, and will cover up to 100 percent of eligible costs through direct grants or benefits such as technical consultancy or the purchase of goods and services.The decision is attached....
