Ramsay Health Care-National Capital Private Hospital deal approved by Australian watchdog

( February 13, 2026, 00:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Ramsay Health Care Investments’ proposal to acquire National Capital Private Hospital has received approval from the Australian antitrust regulator. In a statement published on Thursday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said there is no significant horizontal overlap between National Capital and Ramsay-operated private hospitals. The statement added that these hospitals have largely different “geographical catchment zones for patients” and limited overlap of visiting medical officers. National Capital Private Hospital is a private hospital in the Australian Capital Territory operated by Healthscope, which runs 36 hospitals across Australia and Ramsay, a publicly listed private hospital operator, operates more than 75 hospitals, clinics and surgical centers across Australia.Determination is attached....
