Sports fan group 'deeply' troubled by Slater's ouster amid US Live Nation lawsuit

( February 12, 2026, 21:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Sports Fans Coalition issued a statement saying that it views the firing of Assistant Attorney General Gail Slater from the US Department of Justice as deeply troubling in light of reports that the agency is settling its antitrust case with Live Nation. “Sports fans across the country have waited years for the government to hold Live Nation/Ticketmaster accountable for their stranglehold on the live entertainment industry,” the statement said. “This lawsuit represents the best opportunity in a generation to restore competition and fairness to the ticketing marketplace. Any attempt to undermine, delay, or weaken this enforcement action would be a betrayal of American consumers and a capitulation to monopoly power.”Statement follows in full. ...
