Louis Vuitton, Dior, Tiffany fined in South Korea over SaaS-linked customer data breaches

( February 12, 2026, 02:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Louis Vuitton Korea, Christian Dior Couture Korea and Tiffany Korea were fined a combined 36 billion won ($24.9 million) and ordered to publicize the sanctions after South Korea’s privacy watchdog found their customer data breaches stemmed from weak security controls around cloud-based software as a service customer-management systems. The Personal Information Protection Commission said Louis Vuitton’s case involved about 3.6 million people’s data breached in three incidents in 2025, after malware on an employee device led to theft of SaaS account credentials, with the company faulted for failing to restrict access by IP address or require secure authentication for external logins. Dior’s breach affected close to 2 million people and Tiffany’s about 4,600, after customer-center staff were duped by voice phishing into granting SaaS access, with the watchdog citing inadequate limits on bulk downloads and, for Dior, insufficient log reviews that delayed detection for more than three months. Statement is attached (in Korean)....
