Chinese chamber urges fair handling of EV price undertakings after Volkswagen deal

( February 11, 2026, 03:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The China Chamber of Commerce to the EU urged the European Commission to ensure clear and equitable procedures, adhere to fairness, transparency and non-discrimination, and treat Chinese companies on an equal footing when handling EV price undertakings, in a statement issued on Tuesday. The chamber said it took note of the commission’s decision the same day to accept electric-vehicle maker Volkswagen Anhui’s price undertaking for exports of battery electric vehicles, exempting the model concerned from countervailing duties if minimum import-price conditions are met. It added that its Automotive Working Group recently held a technical dialogue with EU officials on guidance for EV price undertakings and that some Chinese electric-vehicle manufacturers are assessing whether to submit their own offers individually.Statement follows....
