Google files reply supporting partial stay of US search monopoly suit ruling

( February 6, 2026, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google filed a reply in support of a motion to stay certain provisions of the final judgment in an internet search monopolization lawsuit brought by the US Department of Justice pending an appeal of the court’s liability and remedies rulings, arguing that each provision would cause textbook forms of irreparable harm to Google and the public unless a stay is entered. “Plaintiffs do not explain how the consequences of these provisions could be undone if this court’s judgment is reversed. Plaintiffs thus have no sound basis to oppose Google’s targeted request, which is supported by the evidence (including declarations and live testimony from last year’s evidentiary hearing) and the law (including stay rulings in other major antitrust cases and numerous precedents addressing the irreparable harm of compelled licensing and the forced disclosure of confidential data),” Google said.See attached file. ...
