French privacy watchdog reports €486.8m in fines in 2025

( February 9, 2026, 16:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: France’s data protection authority issued 83 sanctions — including 78 fines — totaling €486.8 million in 2025, the authority said Monday in its annual report. Sanctions focused on cookies and trackers, employee video surveillance and data security. The Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés — or CNIL — also issued 143 compliance orders, several of which targeted the child welfare sector or age verification on platforms with predominantly underage users.Press release below:...
