China's Kuaishou plans overhaul after $17m penalty for cybersecurity, content lapses

( February 6, 2026, 10:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Chinese short-video app Kuaishou on Friday said it will implement corrective measures after receiving a 119.1 million yuan ($17.1 million) fine from Beijing regulators over cybersecurity and content-management failures. In a statement, the company pointed to technical management shortcomings and delayed emergency responses that allowed an increase in vulgar and explicit content.
