EU leaders’ retreat tests political ground for scope of 'Made in Europe' rules

This comes as the European Commission is set to present a legal proposal for clean investment later this month, which will call for “Made in Europe” requirements. National capitals, as well as the EU executive’s internal departments, have until now been divided on the scope of the rules.An informal retreat of EU leaders next Thursday — at a castle in eastern Belgium — is expected to be crucial for the bloc’s position on EU preference rules, ahead of a European Commission proposal slated to come out on Feb. 25....
