Brazilian lawmaker files bill to strengthen data-center tax incentives

( February 4, 2026, 21:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Brazilian Federal Deputy José Guimarães, a lawmaker from the Workers’ Party, on Wednesday filed a draft bill that aims to expand the data center industry, known as the Special Tax Regime for Data Center Services in Brazil (Redata). The initiative was introduced in late 2025 as an interim relief measure valid until Feb. 25. The move is seen as a government strategy to preserve the Redata framework as lawmakers were unlikely to vote on the temporary measure before its deadline.See document attached (in Portuguese)....
