Seven ready-mixed concrete makers fined for collusion in South Korea

( February 2, 2026, 05:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Seven ready-mixed concrete manufacturers were fined a combined 2.2 billion won ($1.5 million) on Monday by the Korea Fair Trade Commission for colluding to fix prices and allocate supply volumes in Gwangyang Province from 2021 to 2023. The KFTC found that the local manufacturers, including DY Remicon Industrial, Goryeo Remicon and Gwanghyun Remicon, collectively agreed to raise prices for ready-mixed concrete and threatened to suspend plant operations unless construction companies accepted their proposed prices. The companies also agreed to allocate supply volumes by prioritizing nearby construction sites and monitored compliance by sharing information on customers and sales volumes among themselves.Statement is attached (in Korean)....
