In UK’s plan for AI-fueled growth, real progress on regulation is hard to discern

The technology ministry has shown that of the multiple different parts of the national AI Opportunities Action Plan — brought in exactly a year ago — there has been the least progress in the regulatory aims.The first anniversary of the UK AI Opportunities Action Plan arrived with fanfare, the technology ministry teeing up a week of announcements, a progress report and even a new digital dashboard (see here). But it can't quite mask that regulators and government are falling behind on aspects of their AI adoption aims....
