No single solution to US broadcast consolidation, FCC's Gomez says

Gomez said Thursday. The agency, under the leadership of Chairman Brendan Carr, is debating changes to its regulation of broadcast television as Nexstar and Tegna seek a waiver of the agency's 39 percent cap on the national audience reach that a single broadcaster can possess. Gomez said, however, a solution that benefits broadcasters without harming local journalism will require research into competition in separate markets.
