Chile’s competition authority reduced merger review times in 2025

( January 29, 2026, 16:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: Chile’s Fiscalía Nacional Económica resolved 30 merger investigations in 2025, approving 27 unconditionally and one with mitigation measures, while reporting faster review times across key procedures. According to its annual statistics, the agency received 33 merger notifications and completed 28 notified cases, all in Phase 1, with unconditional reviews averaging 27 days – or 24 days excluding agreed suspensions, below the 30-day legal threshold. The report also highlights increased use of the pre‑notification system, with 17 complex queries averaging nine days for response, and a rise in Press Law requests, which jumped from 46 to 52, with 47 reports issued.See statement below and report attached....
