South Korea's Hanwha signs MOUs with Cohere, other Canada firms

( January 27, 2026, 07:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s Hanwha Group said Tuesday that two of its affiliates have each signed memoranda of understanding with five Canadian companies, including artificial intelligence company Cohere and satellite communications company Telesat, to boost cooperation. Under a three-way memorandum with Cohere, Hanwha Ocean and Hanwha Systems agreed to cooperate on the development of large language models and large multimodal models optimized for the entire shipbuilding cycle and systems integration for submarine operations. Hanwha Systems also agreed with Telesat to cooperate in the low Earth orbit telecommunications sector.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
