Ramsay Health Care-National Capital Private Hospital deal to face Australian review

( January 23, 2026, 00:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Ramsay Health Care Investments’ proposal to acquire National Capital Private Hospital will be reviewed by the Australian competition watchdog. In a statement published on Thursday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said Ramsay, a publicly listed private hospital operator with more than 75 hospitals, clinics and surgical centers across Australia, is proposing to acquire the businesses of National Capital Private Hospital from Healthscope through a business and asset-sale agreement. The regulator added that National Capital Private Hospital is a private hospital in the Australian Capital Territory operated by Healthscope, which runs 36 hospitals across Australia. The regulator said that Healthscope’s parent entities entered voluntary administration in May 2025 as part of an orderly sale process.Statement follows. Questionnaire is attached....
