Salesforce denied Australian notification waiver for agentic marketing supplier deal

( January 22, 2026, 05:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Customer relationship management software provider Salesforce’s notification waiver application for its acquisition of US-based Qualified.com was denied by the Australian competition watchdog. In a determination published on Wednesday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said the extent of the parties’ ability or incentive to foreclose rivals warrants further consideration to form a conclusive view on the acquisition’s competitive effects. The regulator noted that while Qualified currently has a small presence in Australia, Salesforce and Qualified overlap in the supply of business-to-business conversation automation solutions, including virtual assistants, AI agents and chatbots used by sales and marketing teams.Statement follows.
