Manage My Health data breach to be investigated by New Zealand privacy watchdog

( January 21, 2026, 00:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: An inquiry will be conducted into patient portal Manage My Health's cybersecurity breach that compromised the data of about 126,000 users, the New Zealand privacy regulator announced. In a statement on Wednesday, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner said the “scale of the incident, the sensitivity of the information and some of the systemic issues being identified” confirmed that the regulator needs to investigate the privacy issues involved. Privacy Commissioner Michael Webster said the regulator’s inquiry will help determine whether appropriate security safeguards were in place.Statement follows....
