US eases export controls on some drones

( January 20, 2026, 18:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Bureau of Industry and Security announced an interim final rule that will ease export controls on less sensitive drones, or those broadly available globally that can fly less than one hour. Those drones can now be exported to the 42 countries under the Wassenaar Arrangement without a license. There are also license exceptions to US allies for certain more endurable drones, such as those used for cargo delivery.See attached file....
