L'Oréal's proposal to acquire Kering Beauté to be reviewed by Australian watchdog

( January 19, 2026, 00:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Cosmetics group L'Oréal SA seeks to acquire 100 percent of the shares in Kering Beauté SAS, the Australian competition regulator said. In a statement on Friday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that L'Oréal is globally active in the research, development, manufacturing, marketing, distribution and sale of beauty and personal care products. It added that Kering Beauté, owned by Kering Holland and ultimately controlled by Kering SA, is the French-based parent company of the Creed luxury fragrance group. The regulator said Kering Beauté will become the exclusive licensee of the beauty product categories of luxury brands Balenciaga and Bottega Veneta and may, at a later date, be granted a 50-year license to use and operate the rights associated with the fragrance, cosmetics, candles and skin care product categories for the Gucci brand worldwide.Statement follows.
